Study: Type 1 Diabetes and Aging

T1D Exchange is conducting interviews with caregivers of people with type 1 diabetes who are 55 and over in the United States. The interview will be a semi-structured one-to-one phone interview with a diabetes professional to discuss your perspective and experience providing care for adult patients with type 1 diabetes.  

The interview is expected to last approximately 60-90 minutes and you will be compensated with a $50 Amazon gift code (or you may choose to donate it to T1D Exchange) for completing the interview. With your permission, the interview will be audio recorded; however, participant information will not be identifiable in any reports rendered. The audio recordings will be destroyed after the study is completed and transcripts will be retained for a minimum of 6 years.

Who is eligible?

Caregivers of people with type 1 diabetes:

  • At least 18 years old
  • Caregiver for person age 55 years or older with type 1 diabetes
  • Person cared for/supported must have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for at least 1 year
  • Provides care/support for person with type 1 diabetes at least one time per week
  • Assists person with type 1 diabetes with at least two tasks
  • Current U.S. resident
  • Fluency in English
